According to data issued by the Directorate of General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Trichy-Singapore international air route rose from 30th place in the preceding three months (January-March) to 21st place during the period between April and June this year in terms of passenger traffic in the nation.

According to the data, with 1.18 lakh passengers, the Trichy-Singapore route finished 30th out of 331 routes during the first quarter of the year. With 1.36 lakh passengers, the route ranked 21st out of 327 routes in the following quarter, showing a 15.5% increase.
The Trichy airport ranked fourth among cities that offer flights to Singapore, after Chennai (2,17 lakh passengers), Delhi (2,07 lakh), and Mumbai (1,95 lakh).
