  On behalf of the Trichy Corporation, for the first time, traditional decorative street lights have been installed at the center median of Thiruvananthapuram at a cost of 80 lakh rupees to beautify the city.

Trichy Corporation has a total area of 167.23 square kilometers. According to the census of 2011, the population of Trichy Corporation was 9,15,589. According to the census two years ago, the population of the corporation was 10,45,436.

In today's period, it is said that more than 11 lakh people live in Trichy, which is the center of Tamil Nadu, because many people come and go every day. Trichy city is beautified on the order of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mu Gstal.

Accordingly, boards have been set up at important places to avoid sticking posters on the walls, roads are being laid in the areas where the underground sewerage works have been completed.

In this case, in order to provide more light in the main roads in the expanded areas of the city, lamp posts and decorative shields suitable for old architecture have been installed and old model street lights are also being installed in the name of Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vaidyanathan and Mayor Anbazagan. In Srirangam Thiruvananthapuram road linking many tourist spots from Thiruvananthapuram to Napier Bridge to Connemara Grove, old model street lights have been installed in the center median unlike the regular street lights in other roads, for the first time in the Corporation, the old model lights suspended from the steel tension in the center medians are being installed. .

For this, 80 lakh rupees have been allocated from the Municipal Corporation's general fund, and 56 old model 120 watt street lights have been installed in the traditional style of the center median from Thiruvananthapuram to Napier Bridge and in Trunk Road and Kannemarathon areas.

The Corporation officials said that not only will this provide more light, but the old model will attract the onlookers at night due to the presence of street lights.
